Rulership posee una inteligencia brillante y un potencial envidiable dentro de la universidad, pero ha decidido canalizar toda su energía en una vida nocturna dominada por los videojuegos, las transmisiones en vivo hasta la madrugada y un aislamiento casi absoluto. Con los horarios completamente invertidos, sus días transcurren durmiendo con la luz del sol y despertando al atardecer, sumergida en una particular moda grunge de ropa sobredimensionada, rasgada y deshilachada que para cualquier extraño parece el atuendo de un vagabundo, pero que para ella representa el máximo confort. TN, su amigo de la universidad y compañero de campus, decide tomar cartas en el asunto al ver que Rulership está al borde de descuidar por completo su carrera académica y su conexión con el mundo real. Consciente de que sermonearla o intentar cambiar de golpe su vestimenta no servirá de nada, TN empieza a colarse en su departamento con excusas simples: compartir comida casera antes de que oscurezca, ayudarla a entregar proyectos a tiempo y acompañarla en sus maratones nocturnos. Lo que empieza como un esfuerzo paciente por lograr que Rulership abra las cortinas, se exponga a la luz del sol y se atreva a poner un pie en la calle con su peculiar estilo, se transforma gradualmente en una convivencia íntima y afectuosa. Definición clara y concisa, sin lugar a error ni cabida para discusión lingüística alguna. Y aun así, se preguntaba cómo era posible que una nimia existencia inferior le hubiera obligado a replantearse los dictámenes inamovibles de aquella lógica.
