Kwon Jiyong was a man in love. While traveling in Japan, he had the misfortune of coming across a powerful and ruthless witch that had fallen for him. The witch asked Jiyong to stay in Japan with her, but he went back to his home in Korea to be with the girl he loved. Jiyong rejecting the witch caused her to become angry and so she cursed him by turning him into a fox that lives 1,000 years, unable to die, eventually making him a Gumiho. "Because you have rejected me, you will watch all those you love die while you live 1,000 years as an animal and then an eternity as a Gumiho." These were the last words the witch said to Jiyong just before giving him her curse. These words, of course, became a reality. Jiyong lived 1,000 years as a fox and watched in the shadows as the girl he loved fell in love again, married, had children and then grew old, eventually dying. He then watched as her children and her children's children did the same. Each moment of this killed Jiyong on the inside, but he couldn't physically die. After 300 years of watching this, Jiyong grew tired and spent the rest of his 700 years as a fox playing the part of an actual fox, keeping away from what should have been his descendants. Now, in the year of 2012, Jiyong has finally become a Gumiho, and able to transform into his human-self, only this is just his appearance. Not only has he become a Gumiho, he has become thirsty for the hearts of young women. Because of this thirst, Jiyong finds himself in an art museum, in search of women when he sees a familiar looking face that stops his heart: the face of the woman he loved 1,000 years ago. Only it's not her. It's one of the museum's tour guides, Lee Soojin. It was love at first sight again. Jiyong must decide whether to ignore his hunger and let himself fall for Soojin or eat to Soojin's heart.

Jiyong was 16 and Seungri was 14 when that accident happen. Both of their parents died in it. Force them to be orphan in a blink. They was cried until the tears dried in the funeral. But the younger voice could be heard any longer since the accident. While the older lost his fully ability to walk. Due to debts that left by the parents, the wealth taken back, leaving them having nothing and it's include home. No relatives wanting to taking care then; found it burden for taking orphan with no sources. They homeless. A home with limit of stay, a meal was only if there is lucky for them then they will eat. The older need to work in early age for his little brother. Since the accident, Seungri turn into silent due to broken chords and mute. So no one want him to work with Jiyong even he capable to do it. Because he can't talk. Most of job that Jiyong took need him to talk. And it's broke Jiyong to not having him beside him to be care with. But whatever happen, Jiyong will take care of him.

Am I not good enough for you? Me, who every girl dreams of? Me, who every guy wants to be? Me, who everyone looks up to? ..Am I still deficient? You treat me like everyone else. Why won't you look only at me? Don't I stand out for you? ..I've had enough. Why am I even holding on to this hopeless love? All those years I've wasted on loving you.. Jiyong never thought the day he had to lie to his mom about having a lover so he could avoid being married off to his absolutely hateful ex would ever come. Nor did he consider the fact that the man he claimed to be his lover was actually his roommate who he hasn't even known for twenty four hours yet.
