When 9-year-old Chairon embarks on a vacation to Alexander's family estate, she meets the charismatic 8-year-old Alexander, a social butterfly brimming with infectious energy. But Chairon, even at that tender age, carries the weight of melancholy within her, her demeanor subdued and distant.
As they grow older, Alexander's fondness for Chairon blossoms into love, despite her reluctance fueled by her distrust of his playful nature. At 13, he courageously confesses his feelings, only to be met with Chairon's walls of skepticism. Despite her own feelings for him, she can't shake the fear of being hurt.
At 16, Chairon tentatively opens her heart to Alexander, willing to give their love a chance. For a brief moment, they find happiness in each other's arms. But tragically, at 18, Alexander's life is cut short by an epidural hematoma, leaving Chairon shattered and alone.
Amidst her grief, Chairon discovers she's carrying Alexander's child. But the joy of new life is overshadowed by her profound sorrow. As she enters into a state of unconsciousness during childbirth, Chairon's last thoughts are of Alexander, and in that final moment, their love story ends in tragedy, leaving their child to navigate the world without the warmth of their parents' embrace.
