The Age of Calamity, or so it is dubbed, is just on the brink of occurring. In anticipation of the war, the Five Champions of Hyrule prepare years in advance, however, they didn't prepare for one of their own to become corrupted...

I wonder how he's doing... is it working? I have no way to tell. I can't even count the days anymore, it's just too heartbreaking. How many years already? Honestly, sometimes I wish that everything wouldn't take so long- no, that's selfish of me. Someone can't help it if they're dead. I get pretty bored sitting here. I've learned how to seal Ganon and draw at the same time, so that helps... but I really just want to not be dead. "Wake up, Link." Come on... it's got to do something. With the reveal of Age of Calamity, I thought it'd be fun to make a book of the happenings between the time of Ganon's fall and Link's resurrection. I hope you enjoy. Note: There is a book called "Creating a Champion", that's also known as "Masterworks", that was published by Nintendo. It's an addendum of lore for Breath of the Wild. I have not read it, so what I say may contradict what is said in the book. Feel free to tell me if I do this.

The Link she had known all those years ago, hardly ever spoke, even after they had become friends. Now though, he will happily talk to anyone they run into. For her 13th birthday the princess of Hyrule was gifted the Sheikah slate, the latest development in the research of the Sheikah technology. The same night, she vanished without a trace. Three years later, Princess Zelda returns. However, she returns in disguise, as she is warned by the Great Deku Tree of a evil in the castle. Once inside the walls of Hyrule Castle, she finds that there is someone is in her place. Who is she? Why is she here? The false princess looks almost exactly like her, and the triforce symbol on her hand proves her to be the princess. However, Zelda is determined to prove herself the true princess of Hyrule. She gets closer to the "princess", and befriends her appointed knight, Link, who wields the sword that seals the darkness. The threat of the Calamity is looming on the horizon, and Zelda is required to access her sealing power, but how will she access it while hiding her true identity? With the kingdom growing more and more agitated, will Zelda prove herself the true princess, harness her power, and save her kingdom before the end of it all? Link had no idea what was going on. Hyrule had been saved, everything seemed as though it was perfectly on track again. With the Princess rescued and his duty by her side restored, he was almost certain that everything was finally over. Until his skin begins to illuminate with strange markings, not completely recognised by any close to him. Only the Zora Prince, Sidon, can help him, before the dark magic within these runes completely warps Link into a vessel suitable to possess. Sometimes, Link just needs someone to truly believe in him.

Having forgotten his past once, after waking from his hundred year slumber, Link keeps a journal as to not forget again. As he journeys to save Hyrule he's confronted with his past, present, and future. Making new friends only to leave them, grieving his fallen comrades new and old, and dealing with a threat that seems to weigh on him even more than Calamity Gannon; his own fears of isolation and loneliness on this long tiring journey. A first person perspective of Link's personal journey as he saves the kingdom. Both the good and bad times, the highs and lows.
