Legilimency was used to magically navigate through the many layers of a persons mind. Those skilled in the practice were called Legilimens. One would learn the skill but a few witches and wizards were born with the aptitude for Legilimency. Auriga Malfoy was born with the proficiency of a skilled Legilimens. From a young age she was taught in the talent of occlumency as well. It was a gift that her parents used to their advantage. However, when she met Fred Weasley, she learned to value going through life blindly. How it brought excitement and a feeling of living on the edge. It was beautiful because when she learned to live without relying on legilimency, the world opened up to her.
