A story of love, hate, and secrecy between two elves that are both hiding many things, if only they could overcome their aversion to each other to share them.

Like the dwarves, Mithrellas feels the sting of Smaug's attack all those years ago. Unlike them, she's not so eager to venture to the Lonely Mountain. She's haunted by what the dragon took from her and afraid of what the quest could make her lose. Knowing she needs to overcome her past, Gandalf brings along the elven ranger to help guide the company back to Erebor.
