The horrible thing about the both of them is that at their core, they're still human. Not solely Grisha, or Sankta or Black Heretic. Alina cannot forget and The Darkling cannot remember, but the humanity is always there anyway. Or, Alina surrenders to save her friends, and her story is told in the moments that matter, even if they're small.
