The Super Mario Odyssey Movie is based on the game Super Mario Odyssey but Bowser won't marry the princess as he had a bad experience with having her marry him. It also adds characters not in the game and replaces the Broodals with the Koopalings.

Bowser is a shit dad and tries to improve that, even though he gets off track a lot of the time and just gets Kamek to do everything. But bowser realised how much his kids mean to him and how much he means to the kids, so he attempts to make an effort
