Continuing from Season 6's mid-season finale with Kara and Zor-El's return from the Phantom Zone, Kara stumbles to deal with her trauma and she finds herself leaning on Lena for support. Meanwhile, Lena struggles to keep some feelings to herself as she grows closer to Alex, her new drinking buddy.

After Mon El left again, Kara is faced with a surge of conflicting feelings. Relief, grief, and a realization of love for someone rather unexpected. Kara notices her new teacher, Ms. Luthor. She's fascinated by everything she does. Their feelings unreel as the year goes on.

Eventually, Kara's eyes met Lena's; when they did, Lena offered Kara a tearful smile and whispered: "I love you." Through her sobs. Lena watched as Kara's face morphed into an expression somewhere between confusion and shock; but before the hero could say or do anything in response, the ship bolted into the sky, and Lena lost the one person she loved more than anything.

Kara has to work with her to investigate missing person's case. will they go back to normal, or will they worsen their relationship?
