Lenore Dove is eighteen. Sid Abernathy is twelve. One is in her final Reaping. The other is in his first. When both of their names are called, Haymitch is forced to mentor the people he loves most in a Games that were never left to chance. Because this year, the Reaping wasn't unlucky. lainey rose collier was just a seventeen year old girl living in district twelve. growing up in district twelve was hard for some, and lainey knew that, she was lucky. she had grown up in the merchant class, her parents owned the clothing shop in the town square. she was the kind of girl that drew attention naturally, not because she was overwhelmingly beautiful, but because she had a naturally alluring light about her that couldn't be dimmed by the coal dust that seemed to constantly darken the air of district twelve. when the 50th annual hunger games roll around and each district is forced to reap two times the amount of tributes, lainey isn't particularly worried for herself, but more so for her friends. what happens when the reaping doesn't go as plan and lainey finds herself headed into the second quarter quell as a tribute of district twelve? haymitch abernathy had always had it harder than most. forced into becoming the man of the house at a young age and placed in the position of taking care of his mother and sid. he lived among the seam, working jobs for his mother and hattie, while trying to keep food on the table. he never really came off as approachable towards others, leaving with him with not many friends, other than lenore dove, of course, his best friend. when the reaping comes on his sixteenth birthday, he's of course worried for himself, but he's more worried for lenore dove. praying that her name isn't called, but when things go wrong and he's forced to be a tribute for the quarter quell, he finds himself drawn to a certain blonde haired girl that he'd never quite gotten the courage to talk to. will things change for him as he navigates his way through the arena? disclaimer: i do not have any claim to any of the hunger games characters or the plot of sunrise on the reaping, except for lainey of course, the rest of the credit goes to suzanne collins! Evangeline Honey's mother found her way to the Capitol entirely by accident, and met a kind young man, an upstanding member of the Capitol, who she fell in love with, and thus Evangeline Honey was born. Growing up during the war, raised half-Covey and half-Capitol, Evangeline Honey's childhood was riddled with turmoil, starvation, and death. She had only a few friends, Coriolanus and Tigris Snow, purebred Capitol children. With the company she kept, her heritage, and the loss of her parents after the war had supposedly ended, to a final rebel attack, leaving her to be raised by servants, chefs, and avoxes, it was no wonder she developed a disorder. A strange mental sickness that caused her to have flashes of horrifying memories and images, headaches, shakiness, and bouts of nausea. She learned to live with her condition, attending the academy, and being sure not to disgrace her father's name and to care for the Lefleur fortune. For a time things seemed to settle, until it came time for the 10th Hunger Games. Evangeline Honey's 'visions' became worse, more vivid, and soon she began to realize these were not just flashes of her own troubled past, these were flashes of a troubled future, a future directly intertwined with her childhood friend Coriolanus Snow and his tribute for the Hunger Games Lucy Gray Baird. Trapped between the belief that she may actually be going crazy, and a desperate desire to change a future only she can see, Evangeline Honey embarks on a mission to change the narrative. In which a loud mouth girl who doesn't know when to shut her mouth, finds herself reaped in the second Quarter Quell.

She drops down to hold Jackaroe Citrine, and Ma gives her a hug. "Just remember-", she says, whispering into JC's ear. "Nothing you can take is ever worth keeping." They whisper at the same time. She grips the back of her neck for what can be the last time in this lifetime. "Just don't let them change you too much," she begs. "Of course, Mama." - Or The Hunger Games, but Covey-centric as we add more lore and ocs to the D12 flock with the plot being about family, culture, lessons, loved ones, and survival.
