During this time, she becomes involved with the League of Assassins, a secretive and deadly organization. Under the name Azhara, she undergoes intensive combat training, pushing her physical and mental limits and transforming her into a formidable force. Ayana's homecoming brings her face-to-face with her past, including her ex-boyfriend Leonard, who has taken on the persona of the supervillain Captain Cold. Their reunion is marked by a mix of complicated emotions as they navigate their shared history and the changes they have undergone individually.

Leonard watched in disbelief as she spun on her heel and walked away, seemingly unaffected by the fact that she had just been ambushed. "What are you?" He yelled after her. "Everything my parents never wanted me to be," Came her cold reply.
