The turtles rescue a human who turns out to be Leo's best friend in the future, nothing more, nothing less. Maya wants more. More than anything she has ever wanted was for him to love her like she loves him. Karai makes this worse as Leo forms a crush on her, destroying Maya's poor heart till there is nothing good left. Let's just say she's getting bad to the bone.
