In a modern AU, Enjolras moves in with Ferre and Courf when he's kicked out of his parents' house as an 18-year-old senior. He meets Grantaire, a college freshman going for a major in Graphic Design through Courf and Ferre. The more time Enjolras spends with the three (and his classmate Jehan) the more college friends he makes. Before he knows it, he's a member of the college's Equality Club, Les Amies de l'ABC and they're actually trying to make a change.

The house is empty, as usual. The room is cold, except for the small lantern I'd placed on the mountain of books I would eventually read. I sit in my "art gallery", it's bare, but I like the empty feeling, the gentle breeze the open window brings - it brushes the dark curls of my hair, though they're slightly damp from sweat. I sit against the wall, my back lies on the soft, cushion-like texture of my bag. I'm alone again, waiting for my fellow students to come find me. It's just me, my art book and brushes, and the half-empty bottle that I grip so tight.
