Mais un jour, une mère totalement bouleversée par le suicide de sa fille vient frapper à la porte de ce que semble être sa nouvelle vie. Une partie d'Alexandra, mère de Lily vient de disparaître. Ellie l'écoute et renoue avec son passé. Il est temps pour elle de lui rendre ce qu'elle avait caché et de clôturer ce qu'elle a forgé. C'est l'histoire d'une jeune fille qui voyait le monde se dénouer, puis se reconstruire, d'une femme au passé mouvementé, qui ne s'est pas seulement vue changer, mais qui a aussi vu le monde s'habiller d'une autre façon. Elle réapprenait à y vivre alors qu'une autre se préparait à y mourir. Voilà ce qui arrive quand on grandit. On finit par aimer ce qu'on détestait, et on déteste ce qu'on a aimé.
