Katie Wilson had her life perfectly curated. As a successful art gallery manager, her world was full of color, creativity, and ambition. But a devastating leukemia diagnosis turns her vibrant world completely upside down. Suddenly, canvas and paint are replaced by hospital gowns and chemo rounds. With her fiercely supportive mom by her side as her absolute anchor, Katie is just trying to survive the next chapter. But when a sudden fever lands her back in the hospital for observation, her predictable routine is shattered by a chance encounter in the hallway. The Arsenal and Lionesses captain is everything Katie currently isn't-powerful, unstoppable, and living in the spotlight. Yet, away from the cameras and the football pitch, a quiet, unexpected bond begins to form between them. It's a slow burn born in the darkest of places. Can Leah help Katie find the color in her life again, or will the harsh reality of Katie's diagnosis keep them in the dark?

"Why are you so patient with me? I want to die, and that's fucking selfish, because there's a possibility that you will, even though you don't want to." "Because I love you. I'm not going to die, and neither are you." Or, where Michael is a depressed, anxiety-ridden, self-harming introvert, whose mother is forcing him to volunteer at a hospital, and Ashton is a patient suffering from leukemia, whose outlook on life is strangely optimistic and positive, for someone in his situation. This is their story.

Meeting a girl that has the same illness as me is difficult. Knowing that, after her death, a few days after hers, it will be mine. And after death, there probably isn't another life up ahead until the next time I do become alive again, which then I would no longer be who I was before. No matter how much I love who I am now, I won't be the same. Life is harsh to everybody everywhere,if only there is such thing as another planet for after deaths. I believe in reincarnation, I believe in living, but what I believe in the most, is myself.

Inside the courtesy shuttle, people confessed very personal and intimate, sometimes awkward things. I didn't have my white shirt on backward or wear a cloak. But the 'parishioners' revealed things they'd never tell their friends or family. It often made my day; in some cases changed my heart. So be careful: It might do the same for you. Between the normal activities of life I find time to whimsically recall these confessions in a series of short stories, the names changed, of course, to protect the innocent.
