In the first volume of "Patriots": Liza Byers is the eldest daughter of a Catholic, Boston storekeeper in 1775. Her upbringing has been unique in comparison to that of most girls. She has been educated by a French Jesuit in her home and has served as a courier to her father's friends in the Sons of Liberty.
