Twins Scorpius and Eleanor Paiszkit-Lilac don't know what to do when they are stuck in rut trying to find their mom, who recently got abducted by their dad. They prefer their soon-to-be step-dad, who fell into a coma. Or at least, that was what they were told. When Beaufort and Nathaniel Broadbent's parents find Scorpius trying to steal a toolkit in their garage, they welcome the twins into their home and try to help them. The twins find it odd, but they have nowhere else to go. They accept Mr. and Mrs. Broadbent's offer, with the price they have to put up with Nathaniel's nasty behavior towards them.
