About the Author Kaytings is a Nigerian poet and Salesforce professional whose writing blends vulnerability with quiet strength. Born with a deep reverence for language and emotion, he crafts poems that speak to longing, memory, healing, and the quiet revolutions of love. His work often draws from personal experience, cultural memory, and the tender details most overlook: an unfinished sentence, a held breath, the silence between two heartbeats. Te Amo, Alberto is his debut poetry collection, born from a journey of unexpected love and personal transformation. Through it, Kaytings explores what it means to choose softness in a world that often demands armor. When he's not writing, he's building digital solutions, creating African-inspired art, and believing fiercely in the beauty of tenderness

Velvet Ballroom was the very first poem I had accepted by Poetry, Australia published in the Winter Edition 1991. I saw the guy I wrote about a few years later at a Gay Nightclub with his boyfriend! No wonder I was attracted to him as I was out by then too. Still to this day he has no idea I wrote a poem about him, let alone had it published by a literary journal. Shush, let's keep it between us.

I walk up to my friends and family at the gathering. They were all confused at why I called for them all of a sudden. That's when I told them about how I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community. They were all suprised, some had disgusted looks, some had emotionless looks, and some had excited looks. I guess family and friends can be accepting, but not every single one of them. Though, I don't care, I am who I am and nobody can tell me otherwise!

I heard my nickname and suddenly I remembered, all these questions I didn't ask. ~ I never asked if you were leaving soon, If biting ears still made you swoon. If our love needed stronger tune, Or if our socks still fit the mood. I never asked about the cocoa breath, Or kitchen kisses flirting with death. If public teeth were still our wreath, Or if the love had any breadth. Now all the questions crowd my chest, Regrets in rhymes that won't let rest. The love that slipped while I confessed- Too late, too slow, too unaddressed. Forgive this heart that held too loose, The one that slipped without excuse. In every stanza, every truce- I'm sorry for the love I let reduce. I hope these poems make readers pause, To ask the questions, hold the cause. To bite the ear, to kiss because- Love slips away without applause. #1 Lgbtqpoetry 21/04/26

I love poetry/quotes, and I hope you like mine. If you had a certain type of poem you are looking for, I may be able to help you if you would ask about it. I appreciate feedback on my work so if you like it, don't be a silent reader, let me know(vote or comment)! Cover art belongs to me. The cover is temporary, as I will probably make a piece for this book-like thing.
