Evercry was a first person fantasy mmorpg that had deep in depth story telling and a large player base. With dungeons and events staged to get rare items from time to time to drive up player retention. When one day during one of these events where all the players had vanished one day. Without an rhyme or reason 50 million people disappeared world wide. Causing an uproar as millons disappear with people saying different things on the event. Some said it was divine judgment while some blamed foreign nations for using a expermental weapon. All that meant nothing when the world government started to investigate the occurrence. Forming a special task force of investigator's for this case hand picked across the globe. Only to come out empty handed after 6 years of investigation to the dismay of all the families of those effected. Being able to concluded that all those disappeared had been online during the Evercry event. After a 3 more years people began to forget about the 'evercry disappearances' as the world moved on. Rose could have sworn that what stood before her was just a lost young girl. But as she stood hovering over her recent kill, Rose couldn't be so naive. The woman breathed in deeply as she tried to compose herself. Rose tried to picture what could have happened just a moment ago. The room was covered in vines and the man that sat on the tall throne, the bandit leader Rose deduced, laid dead. He was covered in blood, but it wasn't like Rose had ever seen before. His blood was dark purple, streams of it flowed down deep cuts all over his arms and face, but that wouldn't even be the worst of it. What was once his throat was now shreds of bloody tissue and muscle. Rose would wonder how the head was still intact if it wasn't for the clear bone sticking out holding it in place. It was a gory sight. His skin had shriveled and turned pale. The only hint of color left was the tint of bright green that oozed out the dark cuts. 'Poisoned'. Rose thought to herself. No, this was no lost little girl...

The mage thought it was a foolish promise, thinking such a thing could never happen. Nevertheless, he had to honour his friend's wish as the mage prepared himself for such an event to come. Much to his dismay, he came back to life through a necromantic ritual resurrected as a 'Lich'. After coming to terms with the fact such an outrageous prediction came true, the Lich now sets forth to fulfill his part of the promise.

Tramping seems the best way for necromancer Jayden Ward to relax for a while but after the appearance of a dead body, a night time mystery and an unexpected reunion, it doesn't look like he'll be doing much relaxing at all. In fact, he may be lucky just to make it out alive.
