An alternate ending to The Book Thief with Rudy and Liesel. Contains some major spoilers, so only read if you have already read The Book Thief or seen the movie.

FINISHED STORY. It's 1948 and 3 years since Liesel last saw Max. She is travelling up to meet him in Munich, but something is a little different between them. Is the spark that started in the basement about to turn into something more?

If only Rudy lived... A/N: I wrote this a long time ago and the format is awful but I am working on other stories at the moment and don't have time to fix it. Hopefully you will enjoy my story all the same, bad format and all.

Rudy is devastated when his whole family -aside from his father, are killed in a bombing of himmel street, as well as the love of his life - the book thief to his jesse owens. What can he do to solve her? To finally let his memory of her settle? When he sees her reappear, he knows there are some chapters of hers left unfinished.

Most people know that Liesel Meminger wrote a book, called the Book Thief. That book is hat saved her life from the Himmel street bombings. But not everyone knows that Liesel wrote two books.The second book is called After The Bombs, in this book she writes letters to Rudy, Mama, Papa, her brother and her real mother describing her new life.

Max Vanderburg was just passing time in his basement. Alan Turning was searching for more code-breakers.
