[THE BOOK THIEF - MAX VANDENBURG FANFIC] Liesel is my little sister, and my best friend. We were being sent away to a safer and better family. I didn't know what being a communist meant but I knew Mama was one and that it was very dangerous to be one right now. So we were sent off. We lost our brother on the way but at 33 Himmel Street, we gained so much. Like Max Vandenburg, the hidden Jewish boy who stole the stars.

FINISHED STORY. It's 1948 and 3 years since Liesel last saw Max. She is travelling up to meet him in Munich, but something is a little different between them. Is the spark that started in the basement about to turn into something more?

It has been three years since the Himmel Street bombing. Three years since Rudy Steiner's death. The war is over, and Liesel has moved on; or so she thinks. What if Death had made a mistake? What if Rudy has been searching endlessly for Liesel for the past three years? And what will happen when he does find the book thief?

On the eve of his death, the Book Thief whisks Rudy Steiner away and changes his fate.

ALL CHARACTERS BELONG TO MARKUS ZUSAK (except Y/N Weber, obviously) - Max Vandenburg is a runaway Jew seeking for shelter. When he arrived at the Hubermann's house he asked one simple simple question to the man who opened the door; "Do you still play the accordion?" They helped him and he took shelter into their basement. - Y/N Weber, lives across from Hans and Rosa's home, their families knew each other - they did go to the same school after all! Ever since you started helping Liesel to read better, you all became closer. But when Rosa all of the sudden forbids you from visiting any longer, you can't help but become curious as to why.

Heyo readers! This is my first story on Wattpad. I read "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak for my social studies project and chose to write an alternate ending for the project. I am going to upload it here on Wattpad so everyone can enjoy. Please don't be afraid to criticize my work.

Rudy is devastated when his whole family -aside from his father, are killed in a bombing of himmel street, as well as the love of his life - the book thief to his jesse owens. What can he do to solve her? To finally let his memory of her settle? When he sees her reappear, he knows there are some chapters of hers left unfinished.
