Why did I stop? I should've just kept doing what I did best. I should've just kept hating myself. But maybe- Just maybe- I could've been better. I could've done so many things. I could've done so much right when all I did, all I could see, was wrong. I don't know anything.

I was just turning 14 when the weight on my shoulders had finally lifted. Although, I wasn't sure if it was for the better or for worse. On the pro side, I was given the opportunity to start over and I took it. On the con side, I lost my older brother as they wouldn't let us live together. It's been four years since I've seen him and they wouldn't let us have any sort of contact with eachother; saying it was "dangerous," for the both of us. I miss him. I prayed every night for him to magically appear or walk through my door with wide open arms. He never came. Well... I guess I should start from the beginning then. • • • • • This story involves a lot of trauma and sad parts, if you are a really emotional person, I suggest you take precautions into reading this book. Aspen is an unschooled teen taking on the world with her caring heart and creativity. Aspen sees the world differently then most her age she is not stuck in a building and told to learn she learns from the classroom of the world and most of the time she sees things though her camera.

"Sorry I didn't know you had company. There was no car in the driveway." I said pointing back to the driveway as if you could see. "It's fine sweetie. This is Dave. He's going to be your fathers new lawyer so he'll be around often." My mom replied. Dave turned around and his smile faded away as did mine. "Uhm hello, Dave." I struggled to swallow and shook his huge hand that I had just watched run down his leg in embarrassment. He smiled again, the one I caused no more than an hour or two ago. "I'm Tessa. I prefer Tes though." I smiled at the deja-vu we were both experiencing and let go of his hand. "Since we're going to be spending a lot of time together I thought you should know." Why do you find out why? Maybe, there's something wrong, we want to fix? Maybe it's our parents? The truth is, it's the teen. Here is my story.
