As a result, Marinette was no longer allow to do what she wants without her mother's permission or even leave her house unless it was for her cheerleading practice. Marinette just wants to finally be able to go to school and live a normal life with a bunch of friends but her mother won't let her until she ended up getting the ladybug miraculous. It allows her to transform into a superhero known as Ladybug. After an incident, Marinette's mother finally allowed her to go the school that she's been trying to sneak off to. She also found herself falling in love her her super hero sidekick Chat Noir.

Adrien's parents, Gabriel and Emilie, owns a cafe, one of the famous ones on Paris, where Adrien works part-time as a barista after school and on weekends. It is quite successful and is known for its great hospitality and kindness they show to customers. Tom died when Marinette was still 5, and Marinette grew up only to know her mother. Since her father died, she and her mother started to grow distant, for Sabine quickly piled herself up into work. Sabine is a famous designer, and Marinette dreamed to follow in her mother's steps. With Sabine's encouragement, Marinette worked as her mother's model. It doesn't take long for Adrien to fall head over heels with Marinette Dupain-Cheng. He found it hard to wrap his mouth around what he was trying to say at times, but his unrelenting patience and gentle smile was a jolt to her heart, to say the least.
