Months after the destruction of Black Hollow Lighthouse near Bar Harbor, the sea has gone unnaturally calm. Fishing routes shift. Compasses misalign. Electronics fail along the cliffs. On a jagged stretch of Atlantic coastline just beyond Bar Harbor stands Black Hollow Lighthouse-condemned, abandoned, and officially declared structurally unstable after a mass disappearance in 1987. Thirteen people vanished in a single night. No bodies were ever recovered. No distress call was logged. The final entry in the keeper's log mentioned only fog-and singing. Nearly forty years later, marine structural engineer Dr. Eliza Hart inherits the property. Determined to assess it before demolition, she assembles a small team to inspect the lighthouse and document its unusual acoustics. But Black Hollow was never meant to guide ships. It was built to hold something in place. And it has been counting the years since the light last failed.

Matthew Leon takes on the job of the lighthouse keeper that has been passed down in his family for years. Which means he'll have to live all alone on a tiny island 10 km off the main land, couped in an old, cold tower.
