In a post-apocalyptic South Africa, a young Usiba warrior must make it to the peak of the Table Mountains to fid the fabled Lightning Bird and ask of it a wish to save his people. Along the way, he comes across many challenges and an unlikely ally who helps him realize the true importance of his quest.
