Literally am only posting this on here because somebody suggested I post my stories on Wattpad and not tell them to random people in Flicker LMAO. It was the last day of school when Aubrey finally told him. The hallway was loud, lockers slamming and friends laughing, but all she could hear was her own heartbeat. She confessed with trembling hands and hopeful eyes. He smiled politely, scratched the back of his neck, and said, "You're really nice, but I don't feel the same way." That was it. No dramatic music. No rain. Just a quiet rejection that echoed in her chest long after the bell rang. That summer, she cried. A lot. But somewhere between late-night journaling and staring at her ceiling, something changed. She got tired of replaying his words. Tired of feeling small. So she picked up her old guitar again.
