When a string of linguistically complex messages points to a calculated killer, the BAU calls in a consultant who speaks the language - literally. Eden Blake isn't law enforcement. She isn't trained to chase monsters. But she's about to help the FBI hunt one. What starts as a case rooted in language and logic turns into something neither Eden nor Dr. Spencer Reid could have predicted. Bound by intellect, haunted by pasts they don't talk about, and caught in a pattern only one of them can see - they'll learn that not every variable can be controlled. And some connections defy all profiling.

This publication contains my shortened qualification paper for a Bachelor's degree in the last module of my specialization area, linguistics, on the origin and history of Yiddish as well as my Bachelor's thesis comparing the social prestige of Yiddish and Hebrew. Both were graded as "very good". I thought it might be of interest to some or be useful as a starting point for other students. Please keep in mind that these were written during my Bachelor Studies and contain quotes and information from academic sources as well as graphics and pictures taken from academic publications and primary sources. More about this in the preface. Paper "Yiddish, a Language through the Ages" BA thesis "Sociolinguistics of Yiddish and Hebrew: Social Prestige and Instrumentalization of Semitic Languages"

The beautiful linguistics professor, Misty Mac Niell, is haunted by a rare disease; hyperthymestic syndrome. This peculiar syndrome enables her to remember every detail of her life that ever occurred; such as what she ate for breakfast on the morning of her second birthday. Her unusual ability lands her a part time job with the local police force and her first assignment is to find the murderer of twelve jurors. The most obvious answer is the man that they put away, but there's only one little catch; he's on death row and claims to have no part in it.
