This Neurolinguistics program is basically an attitude of permanent learning. This book describes the alien civilization referred to by themselves as kin toroon (pronounced kin TAR-oon), or "the people." This not a story, but a description to be used as reference for any subsequent stories that I may publish. This all came about when I got the idea for a sci-fi/diesel punk/ fantasy story (that I have not fleshed out yet) involving a soldier in a world war that involuntarily draws energy from his surroundings to heal himself (absorption of a bomb blast, withering of a tree, etc.). I wanted to incorporate some sort of inscription and decided to create an alphabet. Finding I wanted to have a language made for it, I waited until I could accurately and quickly recognize each character before I got to work on the words. Of course a language needs a people, which is where kin toroon come in....

A man travels to a Japan armed only with his wits, himself, and a BA in English to see if he will make it or break it in the world. Despite being lost in an alien land, he will soon find out that he's not the only one who's lost in translation, and will form strong bonds with those who he is in the same boat with. Whether it be English, Japanese, Russian, German, or any other language, the protagonist will learn that the world can be a pretty small place.

After receiving bad news from her parents, young equestrian Zee Abara runs away on the back of her horse, Alfie. As if things can't get any worse, she and Alfie are suddenly abducted by aliens! Now, if she wants to get home, Zee will have to work with a four-armed humorless green lady, a lion who can make it snow, a robot that looks a lot like a human skeleton, a duck who thinks he's a superhero, and a trashcan that can speak every language (except English). Can she make it home?

The world is the Citizen Republic, and its only language is Citizen. Over the course of a century the Citizen Republic conquered its provinces, near and far, triggering massive waves of immigration and dividing the people of the world into two categories: citizens and outlanders. Beaten by the military might of the Republic, outlanders in the provinces gave up their independence to become colonies. The Republic built roads, hospitals, and schools in its new territories, forcing all outlanders to learn citizen, wiping out all other languages for good. Now the outlander legends of old and their telling have all but died out under the weight of the citizen tongue. But not everyone is willing to forget - for there is magic in the outlander tongues, and word-mages willing to learn to wield them in their struggle to end the tyranny of the Citizen Republic and to free the languages of the world.
