"Link, you are the light -our light- that must shine upon Hyrule once again." When Link wakes after one hundred years of slumber and no recollection of the past, he must struggle to remember who he is. Author's note: My version on Fanfiction is a little different than the norm. I find myself more interested in what's already there rather than creating all new material. When I initially began writing this, it was basically Breath of the Wild through Link's POV. Although I quickly found myself bored writing the whole story and wanting to focus solely on the memory flashbacks. So this fanfic is just that. It follows Links memories in chronological order. (Although this contains a bit of edited and new material to strengthen Link and Zelda's bond.) I've always wanted to write through Link's perspective. The idea has always been fascinating to me because he's just so stoic and quiet. So that begs the questions: what is he thinking, what is he feeling? I'd like to shine a little light on the situation. :)

Most may know the story of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, what if the worst thing that could have happened... did happen? What if Link DID die that day, and Zelda had to save the day instead? In this Breath of the Wild AU, Link dies and it's up to Zelda to save the day; and perhaps her knight. All rights to Nintendo and their characters. *PS - Finally picking this up again in almost 2026 lol

Calamity Ganon is coming. Princess Zelda is in a race against time to unlock her sealing magic, but no matter how hard she tries, the power evades her. Master Link has been tasked to accompany her as she travels throughout the land in an attempt to awaken her abilities, but nothing works. When the end closes in, when the beast raises its ugly head, will Zelda be strong enough to face it? The clock is ticking. Time is short. A retelling of the events preceding the newest installment in the Legend of Zelda franchise, "In The Days Before" stitches together all of the memories Link uncovers in the game while filling in the gaps of the story. (After Ocarina Of Time) A few months have gone past after the terrible distruction of Gannondorf. Zelda is going to be crowned Queen of Hyrule. She hasn't seen Link since she was saved by him. Link is all she thinks about, Zelda is all Link thinks about. Will they ever confess their love for one another? Is Link going to turn up to Zelda's coronation? Is Zelda even going to invite Link? Can Zelda let go of the past and embrace her newfound freedom, or will traditions of old keep their iron grip? Set after BOTW, so post-Calamity Ganon. Zelda and Link's relationship in this can be interpreted as platonic or romantic - I didn't really write this with either in mind. Cover is a picture of the Silent Princess flower from the game itself, but I'll probably change it at some point.

Link pulls the sword from the temple of time, and is forced to pack his bags for the castle... to accept his doomed title. Despite the rocky start, Link eventually finds himself acquainted with friends Mipha and Renado, while Zelda deals with more familial issues. Slowly but surely, the world begins to show signs of it's demise; blood moons, skeletal monsters, and backstabbing machines. This is an ongoing story with a slow burn romance at its core. Their wildfire relationship endures childish twists and turns, but Link and Zelda will ultimately have to come together to face the calamity which threatens to plague Hyrule... But that's all she had done, she didn't expect that their relationship from strangers would turn out to be bigger than that; she never expected that the person she had met will be the start of something new emotionally and mentally.
