"Link, you are the light -our light- that must shine upon Hyrule once again." When Link wakes after one hundred years of slumber and no recollection of the past, he must struggle to remember who he is. Author's note: My version on Fanfiction is a little different than the norm. I find myself more interested in what's already there rather than creating all new material. When I initially began writing this, it was basically Breath of the Wild through Link's POV. Although I quickly found myself bored writing the whole story and wanting to focus solely on the memory flashbacks. So this fanfic is just that. It follows Links memories in chronological order. (Although this contains a bit of edited and new material to strengthen Link and Zelda's bond.) I've always wanted to write through Link's perspective. The idea has always been fascinating to me because he's just so stoic and quiet. So that begs the questions: what is he thinking, what is he feeling? I'd like to shine a little light on the situation. :)

Tetra is a simple country girl, stuck in a Cinderella-like situation. After her father remarries & then passes, her stepmother plans to sell her to a slaver named Ganon. Forcing her to flee and steal away to the high seas, she eventually finds herself on a ship belonging to a young captain named Link. As fate would have it, he may be the only one who can save her from her past and restore her future.

"Your chamber is directly above the courtyard that 'prettyboy' with the flashy sword trains in. Don't you think he's so much taller than he was last year...?" "Honestly," Zelda rolled her eyes, despite feeling uncharacteristically unable to pull away from the view, "you're completely impressionable. I doubt you even know his name." "Oh- and you know how he likes his eggs in the morning, Princess?" ... The fable behind the events of Breath of The Wild, following the childhood of both Link and Zelda as they navigate their lives, coming up against battles and heartbreaks alike. We begin six years before the calamity, while the unbeknownst heroes are little over twelve. Link pulls the sword from the temple of time, and is forced to pack his bags for the castle... to accept his doomed title. Despite the rocky start, Link eventually finds himself acquainted with friends Mipha and Renado, while Zelda deals with more familial issues. Slowly but surely, the world begins to show signs of it's demise; blood moons, skeletal monsters, and backstabbing machines. This is an ongoing story with a slow burn romance at its core. Their wildfire relationship endures childish twists and turns, but Link and Zelda will ultimately have to come together to face the calamity which threatens to plague Hyrule... A retelling of the events preceding the newest installment in the Legend of Zelda franchise, "In The Days Before" stitches together all of the memories Link uncovers in the game while filling in the gaps of the story. Most may know the story of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, what if the worst thing that could have happened... did happen? But that's all she had done, she didn't expect that their relationship from strangers would turn out to be bigger than that; she never expected that the person she had met will be the start of something new emotionally and mentally. After defeating Calamity Ganon, Zelda and Link fight over who can climb Gut Check Rock. But actually, it's a fic about Zelda and Link talking and doing stuff in Hyrule with the only story being about Gut Check Rock. Also, there are times when I forget about Link entirely and just follow Zelda's experiences after defeating Calamity Ganon.

Link is all she thinks about, Zelda is all Link thinks about. Will they ever confess their love for one another? Is Link going to turn up to Zelda's coronation? Is Zelda even going to invite Link? The country needs a guiding hand, and as the sole remaining member of the royal family, that task falls on Princess Zelda. However, there is something new in the relationship between the princess and her knight, something neither one of them were willing to admit before the Calamity. After all this time, and all the heartbreak, is it possible for these age-old heroes to have a happy ending? *WARNING* If you have not completed all aspects of the Breath of the Wild game, there will be spoilers! *WARNING #2* There will be violence in this fanfiction, as well as blood and whatnot, so if you're more squeamish than most, you might want to skip this story.
