Prequel to "Lives Forgotten". Lin Beifong vowed her children would never be neglected. No matter how busy she became, she would not make the same mistakes as her mother and grandparents. Yet somehow, like herself, Lin's children must grow up without their father, and like Toph, within the boundaries of a secluded estate far away from the city, in isolation.

With cases rising the people of republic city begin to wonder, are there more avatars? Is there a new kind of Avatar? With Chief Beifong on the case, Tenzin insists on tagging along to solve the mystery.

After an attack on Air Temple Island, the children of Avatar Aang and his friends are sent to Ember Island to keep them safe. At least, that's what they think. The secrets of republic city are discovered, and Bumi and Izumi connect with an old enemy of their parents, who also happens to be the prime suspect for who was behind the attack. *I do not own the art*

The Gaang needs to get used to the fact that their kids are old enough to help defend the world now. It's trouble in the Fire Nation again... This is a sequel to my story "While The Parents Are Away" but I guess it could be read even if you're not familiar with the previous one.
