This is an Arnold Rimmer x OC story (as of sept 4th 2022: GOING THROUGH MAJOR STORY EDITS) Eddie Hammond fakes her name, her identity and her qualifications in order to get a job as a lowly technician on the mining ship, Red Dwarf. Although, after secrets from her past resurface, she is sent to spend the rest of her contract in Stasis. To her horror, Hammond awakes three million years later with a companion equally as useless as she, Dave Lister. Along with a bipedal cat, a senile computer and a neurotic hologram who takes pride in making her life a living hell, Hammond is forced to endure the aggravating task of finding her place in the universe. After 3 million years the mail pod finally arrives on The Red Dwarf. As Lister is digging around in the mail, Rimmer and him find a VR game known for being better then life aptly named Better Then Life. Lister, Rimmer, and Cat decide to test it out. As they play Rimmer finds an unexpected feature.

As a fan of Red Dwarf, it pains me to see that there are almost no fanfics!! So I take it upon myself! This basically follows the series storyline, but with you in it.

Y/N was a senior officer on the mining ship Red Dwarf, She is very smart and has been working under the captain's wing for years! but when a radiation leak is in full force, she is forced to use an escape pod for her safety. The pod she escaped in put her into stasis for 3 million and 5 years and when she wakes up, she finds she is aboard the Dwarf and stuck with Lister, Cat, Kryten and the hologram himself, A.J Rimmer... As she gets to know the crew she starts to warm up to Rimmer even if he is quite a git..... What will happen? find out by reading the smeggin book -_-
