"A marriage doesn't always end with a shouting match. Sometimes, it just slowly redistributes its weight." High above the Shanghai fog, suspended inside a climate-controlled penthouse on the thirty-second floor, a marriage is undergoing a silent decomposition. Minghao and Yuxiao do not fight; they do not scream. Instead, they simply adapt to the growing distance between them-a slow, clinical calibration measured entirely through the physics of the space they share. It is recorded in a gunmetal wardrobe rail that straightens by three millimeters, a kitchen hopper window left stubbornly open three inches to the damp river air, and an espresso machine reprogrammed to leave one spout entirely dry. ─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─── DISCLAIMER & WRITER'S NOTE Please Note: This story is an Alternate Universe (AU) work of fiction. The names and visual inspirations used are entirely transformative and do not reflect the true lives, personalities, or realities of the actual individuals.

The Forgotten Ones are a section of the population that are considered too far gone. They are commonly solitary, though sometimes will build a relationship with a few others. Blood relation isn't something they cherish or even know. The Vitals tried to provide aid to the Forgotten Ones, but there was no use. Victor and James are two forgotten ones bonded by something their kind cannot seem to grasp. Not only that, but Victor is literate. They are more well-off than most of the Vitals, but refuse to come out from the shadows. Until they meet her. The day she came, everything changed. Nothing would be the same. Ever again.

A very short story (1200 words) where the reader is given a tour of the tea shop. The hope was to make it simple, a little poetic, more of a writing exercise that highlights the way that the brain personifies objects and relates objects to life.
