This is a story about Jimi and Karen from the band Little Big Town

In my book "Finding Emma" you learned that in 2007, a 10 year old little girl named Emma, was in an abusive foster home in Nashville Tennessee. One Friday night she got out of the house and went to see one of her favorite singers, Martina McBride. She didn't have any money so she found a way passed security and managed to sneak into the arena. While wandering around she was spotted by security and tried to run away. Around the corner, Jimi Westbrook, was running back to his tour bus before the show. He ran into Emma and sent her right into the wall. She cut her forehead open and Jimi and his wife Karen, who are members of the opening act Little Big Town, took her to the Emergency Room. The couple got to know Emma a little bit and offered her a place to stay for the weekend. What Emma didn't expect was to find people who love and care about her. There were lots of ups, downs, twists and turns along the road for the Westbrook family, which included adding another member to the family. Things are going great for the family of four, but what they don't realize is that there are life changing events in their future. The life of Karen & Jimi

It has taken Jimi, Karen, Phillip and Kimberly over 10 years to actually make it big time. They are just starting to make it big. Just like all bands there are ups and downs. Friends become enemies, enemies become friends and relationships start to form. Follow them on their whirlwind journey through life, as a band, and as one big family.

Karen Fairchild has just been through a painful divorce. She appears to be fine on the outside, but on the inside she is drowning. She thought she knew what happiness and true love was. She thought she had what every girl dreamed of, until it all went up in flames. She tries to find happiness again, but what she didn't realize was that her happiness has been right in front of her, she just had to open up and see it.

When young teenage Janes family dies in a tragic car crash, she must move from the big city to the unforgiving country town. See as her life unrolls and becomes turned upside down with all sorts of twists and turns.

Karen and Mark have been together for 10 years and married for 5. She thought they were going to grow old together. Spend the rest of their lives together. When she finds out what has been going on behind her back, she knows that it's over. There is no way to fix it. There is no way she can trust him and no way she could ever be happy with him again. Karen has to figure out how to live without Mark. She leans on friends and band mates to help her get back on her feet. Her life from then on out is a crazy roller coaster and she realizes who is most important in her life. Stay tuned to find out! -Side note: Each chapter is going to have a lyric from the Little Big Town song "A Place to Land" that fits with that part of the story. The book is going to sort of be based off the song. I interpret the song as being about someone who has been burned a few too many times by love and is learning how to trust people again. They are just trying to find a place to land. So if you haven't heard it, give it a listen.

Recently, I've been playing around with songs that I enjoy and creating story ideas centered around the songs. So I thought I would share those ideas and hopefully someday write these short stories.

Life for Karen Fairchild is complicated in so many ways. But some moments are beautiful and amazing.

It's mostly just a bunch little stories that I've had in my head for a while and some that I've just randomly come up with on the spot. Enjoy!

"Karen please don't go." Jimi said with tears in his eyes. "I have to." "Please, no I'm sorry." She started to walk out of the room. "You look happy." That was all she said and she was gone.
