But when she finally get the right to leave the orphanage she meets one of her dad's favorite singers, Ed Sheeran. When Ed takes Mandy in he doesn't expect to get strange feelings towards her. Although Ed isn't sure about his feelings he can't help but feel as though its a little bit like his song Little Bird. She was a little bird who was broken, and he took her in and he wants to protect her, but Ed doesn't know Mandy's secret, he doesn't know that she can't always be his little bird.

Allie and Ed have gone through so much, that Allie isn't so sure anymore. They had just lost a child, and Allie has fallen into depression. But when Ed writes a song for their lost son, Allie falls back into a flash back of her and Ed's life, meeting him, and Ed's rise to fame. Will Allie come out of her depression? Will they be able to make it through the death of this child? Or will it kill them both?
