Small child finds even smaller child in a dumpster and unwillingly becomes a dad. That's it that's their entire story. Except they live in the Pale City, and nothing good ever lasts there.

It's been a year or so since Patch has finally started to heal from his past. But even having gotten better at coping, the smell of smoke where there shouldn't be and the snapping of new flames brings everything crashing right back in.
