The prairie has always been simple-hard work, quiet evenings, and the certainty that tomorrow will look much like today. At eighteen, Laura has become the heart of her family. With her father away working on the railroad, an injured mother confined to bed, and a younger sister relying on her, duty leaves little room for anything else. Everything changes the evening she finds a wounded stranger beneath an old oak tree. His face is covered in crimson war paint. His body burns with fever. Mistaking her for another pale-faced enemy, he whispers a single word before losing consciousness. Laura should leave him behind. Instead, she hides him in her family's barn. As the young Osage warrior known as Little Puma slowly recovers, a fragile secret begins to grow between them. Bound by fear, silence, and deeply rooted prejudice, they must learn whether mercy can overcome hatred-and whether two hearts from different worlds can ever find a place to belong. Notes: This is an aged-up AU based on Netflix's Little House on the Prairie. Laura is 18, Little Puma is 22, and this story takes place in an alternate timeline where Charles is away working on the railroad. With her mother bedridden and her younger sister to look after, Laura has taken on the responsibility of running the household. From this point on, the story follows its own original path.

He was everything she had been taught to fear. She was everything he had been taught to distrust. They were never meant to meet. Never meant to understand one another. And certainly never meant to fall in love. But beneath endless skies, beside quiet rivers and in a village that slowly became home, two hearts found each other despite a world determined to keep them apart. Because sometimes the greatest act of courage isn't surviving a war... It's loving the person history tells you should be your enemy. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ "Tell me I'm still just a settler." "...I can't." "Takoda, please." His jaw tightened. "I stopped seeing a settler a long time ago." "...Then what do you see?" His voice almost broke. "...The woman I'm terrified I'll have to lose."

After the death of their mother, 18 year old Clara Harrison and her three brothers leave everything they know behind to build a new life on the Kansas prairie. Clara has always understood horses better than people. She is stubborn, hardheaded, and far too quick to defend herself when someone tries to make her feel small. While her older brother Samuel believes it is time for Clara to settle down and find a husband, her brother Jesse reminds her of the freedom she secretly longs for. And when the world becomes too heavy, it is her youngest brother Eli who reminds her that she doesn't always have to be strong. Then she meets Little Puma. He is fiercely protective of his people and the land they call home, and he has little love for the settlers who continue to spread across the prairie. Clara should be someone he keeps his distance from. Instead, he finds himself drawn to the stubborn young woman who seems to fall down as often as she gets back up. Some things are easier to tame than others. And love was never meant to be.

The Ingalls had a desperate, long journey to the vast prairies of Kansas. Passing each night of jigs and Pa's fiddles, the community grows among the Osage land. As settlers touch, share, and gather around, arrogance was not the only concern that they've carried from the east. With such a low stock of quanine, the town drowns in a horrible sickness. Pa, Ma, and Mary hit the sheets with dreadful fevers that prey upon Laura and Y/n who journey through chores and stubborn caretaking. Despite the death-scare and continuous symptoms, little did Y/n know that such later soreness and ache would direct her into the arms of that young Osage man... There is no OC. Reader is addressed as Y/n Ingalls and as a young woman. She/Her pronouns are used. Little Puma x Reader Fem!Reader Little House On The Prairie (2026 Netflix Reboot)
