Yukiko is a priest in her family's Buddhist sect, all alone in a strange city far away from her homeland. When a thief invades her temple, she hires a stranger to protect a sacred, centuries-old secret. This story is dedicated to the Little Tokyo Historical Society of Los Angeles, dedicated to preserving the heritage of one of the city's great communities.

This is for the Little Tokyo Story Contest. Akiko lives a quiet life in Little Tokyo, selling and trading just enough to get by in the futuristic world. But when a desperate Andy convinces her to help save his dying father, the price might be more than she bargained for.
