"There I was, standing in front of one of the most dreaded buildings in the entire city. It was hard to believe that a few weeks ago I was sat on the London Eye, admiring the magnificent view of the city I was about to leave. It pained me to know that in a fortnight I’d be on a train, leaving the only place I had ever called home." When Dionne's parents announce that they are leaving London, the only place they had ever called home, and moving to a mysterious little village called Lovelake, Dionne and her brother are shocked. Dionne's life is at risk and it's as if her worst nightmares are coming to life. The only problem is, she can't wake up from this one.

"I turned to the large mirror hanging on my bedroom wall and stared at myself in disgust. My once curly, dark brown hair appeared lifeless and greasy. My hazelnut eyes had lost their twinkle, my skin was dirty and covered in blemishes. What had happened to my once admired beauty? I asked myself again and again.
