In separate world, a teenager from Syria is cooking up a meal peacefully. But then, his (after)life is changed when a certain boy Michigan crash-landed into his twisted world. Can these two work together (along with some companions) to survive in this world of fears? Can they face the monsters of what haunts them? Winter never was part of the in crowd and that didn't bother her. She had a small circle of friends, each holding their purpose but after she begins having grotesque nightmares of a creature called Slenderman everything around her begins to change and monsters come to life, monsters that you could only dream of.

Her nightmares rule her life, controlling all of her decisions. But no one gets it. Her mom brushes her anxiety off as a "phase" and her brother thinks she just wants attention. Is it just in her head, like her family thinks, or is there something more to these nightmares?
