Hi, I'm horrendously bad at descriptions... He's a puzzle that keeps changing, to (y/n) its impossible to solve. She's an open yet unreadable book that he has yet to crack the code for. This is some fanfiction I wanted to write, it'll be done from two perspectives, and I hope you like it.

Or will you side with your new best friend, the super genius mass murderer he is investigating? if you wanted to self insert yourself into the plot of deathnote then I definitely think you should read this. mostly the same plot just following your point of view of getting pulled into the mix of everything. Triggers so far: bad grammer, swearing, A/N: Rewriten chapters 1-5 so expect much better writing,(thanks Grammarly) and better understanding of the story. Also expect those chapters to be much shorter than newer chapters since that was my writing style at the time.

L's most recent case entails several murders, in which all the victims were last seen with a particular suspect. To prove this man's guilt, L needs you to go undercover in order to get close to him and get concrete evidence or maybe even a confession. As the case drags on for longer than expected, L may begin to have a confession of his own... This is kinda a self-insert, but in case you're a broadway nut like me I made it an x reader so you can enjoy the ride. Also there's an original dude in this named Victor. L Lawliet, worlds greatest detective and possibly the smartest person alive... can't talk. Well, he can, but only to those he's deeply connected with. Partially mute, he hides behind his screen and solves crimes anonymously. Speaking to taskforces with text to speech, and no face shown. Until he's pushed into a corner with a particularly tricky case, and ends up having to make his first face to face interaction. (y/n) shows up to the hotel room of the worlds greatest detective, thinking they'd see a well polished, wise old man. Instead they're met with a tired, young and rather huggable looking guy with eyebags holding a torn notebook page saying "I am L, and I can't talk" -- GNC READER. Basically all language for the reader is gender neutral, anyone can read! Non binary mfs rejoice. When the eventual lemon hits it'll be kinda alluded to an AFAB body (bc marketing to my main audience yo), but all pronouns are they/them and there's no descriptions of tiddies or anything.
