Completely deserting the ninja and his duty to Ninjago, he used the power of the Hypnos Crystal to erase the Green Ninja's secret identity from the minds of everyone, and started a new, simple life. I haven't watched past March of the Oni, but ik about Nya's death, and the crystal villains.
