WinterBard
The time October, 1775, the place New Hampshire, the people....
Come, join us, meet Leftenant Griffin Davenport, a former naval captain demoted to a leftenant in the English army, and sentenced to fight the rebels in the wilds of America, while keeping an eye on his prisoners. One of these is Jesse an English soldier caught deserting, he is of intelligence just great enough to make Griffin's life Hell. However he is posesed of a loyal nature with a warm heart, warm enough to welcome some locals into the camp. The first such is Merry KillMac, a smuggler of contraband (including of course tea) an English/Irish hybrid with confused loyalties, and mixed ideas about right, wrong, and love.
Speaking of love, enter the women!
Both are bootleggers in cahoots with Merry. There is the acumplished lock pick/smith Abigail. Auburn haired, and hotblooded, quick to act, and charismatic, and certainly a culture shock to Griffin ;)
Then there is Phoebe Eadge the forger of little infamy, calm, removed, though her fits of temper are quite a show, she is usually to be found lurking in the shadows, watching the English a little too closely for their peace of mind.
Beside her in the shadows, looms the imposing figure of Grampus in his wheeled-chair, a senile old man with A PAST, the sort not spoken of that is.
So read the adventures of Griffin, the only apparently sane man in a world both mad and on fire!
(Warning this book contains men in kilts... as well as the answer as to what lies beneath. {For one reason or another you may not like what you see.})
