LIREH is a halfling with Fae-blood running in her veins from her great-grandmother. Magic doesn't come naturally for halfling, or so they've been told. Yet on her eighteenth birthday, Lireh discovers her magical ability. She secretly leaves home to enroll herself in the elite magical school in Hallacyon--the city of the Harluks who rule over them.
Upon entry, Lireh sparks the curiosity of KALLEM, the haughty Crown Prince of Hallacyon, who needs something from her. When an enemy wants Lireh dead, the Crown Prince offers to protect her, much to Lireh's chagrin. They enter a reluctant bargain, even as unwanted attractions arise.
As they investigate, they discover dark secrets the school will do anything to keep hidden.
