The story of a child bride from Rajasthan in India, who grows to maturity in UK and then refuses to recognise her marriage. She is thereafter relocated to Kerala and slowly comes to understand the social context of her life. With deeper appreciation of her role in life, she comes to accept the marriage she had entered into as a child. Her husband has grown into a socially committed and responsible doctor, who is working hard in the countryside to raise awareness and improve health conditions. The marriage finds acceptance with both.
