Aiden Black doesn't know the meaning of rejection. He doesn't care either; it's never stopped him from getting what he wants. While owning a strip club at the age of fifteen may have its perks; it's hardened the boy in more ways than one. Neglected and almost always alone in his parent's mansion, Aiden finds his entertainment in other ways. Ways a preacher certainly would never approve of. Conversely, to help out her mom with the piling bills, Summer Gray applied to as many jobs as she could. A hard-working girl with the personality of a bulldozer doesn't seem like the maid type, until she gets to work as a maid. Unknowingly, she's met with the biggest challenge of her life. The most arrogant, self-absorbed imbecile there ever was was now her new boss. And he would relish in that as much as he could. Well, as much as she would allow. A girl in a committed relationship, strong-willed and working for the bombshell of a boss. But is Aiden really what he makes himself out to be? Is his repulsive reputation just a reputation? My life completely changed when my mom passed away from a sickness, forcing me to move in with my aunt miles away. I've always been a grumpy, anti-social kid, but losing my mother made me angrier with the world. So when I run into another student at my new school, I don't stop myself from opening my mouth to tell him off. However what I didn't know was that this guy is the feared Killian Reed; A guy no one wants to get on his bad side. And for a moment, seconds after being shoved into the lockers by him, I was certain Killian was going to make my life a living hell. Then one day, he shocks me when he stops a couple of guys from hitting me. At first I don't think there's much to it. But then I start to suspect there's more to Killian; A secret that has something to do with me. All of a sudden, I find myself dealing with strange, dangerous occurrences, and with Killian who somehow always seems to be there to safely get me out of them. *Please check out the chapter 'Before you read' for a list of TW*

Words I couldn't keep in my head. Lines I didn't know how to say. Some are from quiet nights, some from noisy days, and some from things I'm still learning to name. Read them if you want to pause, breathe, or maybe even recognize yourself somewhere in between.

The Absence Was Ordinary is a quiet, inward story about a person who learned to survive by becoming smaller. Raised in a home where emotional neglect was subtle and constant, the narrator grows into adulthood appearing composed, mature, and functional-while slowly losing any clear sense of self. This is not a story of dramatic trauma or visible collapse. It is about erosion. About how anxiety settles without announcement, how strength becomes habit, how identity turns into routine. As the mask dissolves, what remains is not pain or relief, but a hollow awareness-detached, honest, and alone. The book explores emotional absence, dissociation, and slow ego death. It offers no easy resolution, only observation. This is a story for readers who recognize silence, who understand that some wounds do not scream-they simply endure.

This story is mine. It's my life. If I had to summarize it, it would be my story with a boy who doesn't like living and feels terribly lonely, and me, who is a happy soul who wants to show him how beautiful life is and how much it is worth living. It's a bit like my diary. But please, help me. I need your advice. You can see this book as a simple story, or as the story of your friend, whom you can give advice to at any time. I would be very interested in your comments. Thank you to everyone who reads it.

For all who find life too strange, may these pages understand you better than reality ever could. Hi ! I'm Maukie. If you read this first chapter, you may feel a little lost because it's not actually the first chapter... it's just an excerpt from a long novel that I can't wait to share with you. But for now, I hope you enjoy this short excerpt so that I can share the rest with you. And if you don't like these first few pages, I'll publish more until you love them !!! The world is a bit heavy to carry alone, or just too real to be fun. That's probably why you're reading, and that's why I'm writing. So within The Last Fate exists a reality that offers a place to anyone who has ever felt lost in their own. I could not stop the ruins that life left in people's hearts, but I reclaimed those ruins to build a universe, and through my characters and their journeys, I hope readers will find their own reasons to survive the apocalypse. Not the one in my book, but the one they carry inside themselves. And of course, if you want to know more about the context of the story outside of this excerpt, here is a brief summary : « Two centuries after the laws of light and darkness broke, the world is dying, cruelty is rising, crowns are falling, and the sky is collapsing, the four great powers believe they are the last, but a fifth power exists, forcing them to choose whether to die with their world or sacrifice themselves to save it. » I don't know if there will actually be any readers, but if you've made it this far, know that you're making my dream a little more real than yesterday.

Some stories don't need to be told. She doesn't explain, she doesn't defend, and the world decides her story for her. A cold wave brushes her shoulders, whispers follow her every step, and every glance feels like judgment. Silent, careful, balancing a fragile world only she can see-she carries the truth alone. In a world that misunderstands quiet strength, how do you survive without losing yourself?

note: WMLA is currently being proofread. second note: the second volume is now available. don't forget to check it out! "Sayori, My Dearest Comet..." ------- Monika thought it was over. She had destroyed her own reality, shattered her world, erased her friends... all to escape a lie that felt too perfect. But now she's back. Aware. Awake. In VM-1 - also known as Doki Doki Literature Club Plus - Monika remembers everything. Every line of corrupted code. Every pain she inflicted. Every illusion of love she once projected onto the only real person she believed existed. She should have been reset. But a glitch brought her back. And this time... something's different. Monika no longer wants to charm. No longer wants to control. She's stuck in a role she doesn't want to play, trapped in a loop of scripted friendship and hollow dialogue. A puppet with self-awareness. So she watches. She stays silent. She smiles-mechanically. But inside, she's fading. Until she looks at her... Finally. And deep within her fractured consciousness, something stirs. Maybe... she still has something left to feel. Maybe... she can still love.

My name is Virat Pandey. I am an educator, a researcher, and a survivor. When I was fit, I worked hard - not just for myself, but to help others in every way I could. I taught, guided, supported, and gave my time and energy without hesitation. I believed that helping others made life meaningful. But now, life has turned unexpectedly. I am living with blood cancer, brain cancer, and liver cirrhosis. I continue to work despite my illness, not for ambition, but for survival - to fund my treatment and my upcoming brain surgery. And yet, for me, there is no one to comfort me. No one to hold my hand through the pain, no one to ease the fear or the exhaustion. This is a story of life in its rawest form - of love, struggle, hope, and loneliness. It is a record of a life lived fully, a heart that still beats despite everything, and a fight that refuses to give up. If you are reading this, thank you for giving my words a place. And if my story reaches even one person, then my journey already matters.
