Imagine a steampunk world in the Victorian era in modern ages. That's where Syl is. Syl, eighteen, has spent her entire life in the Gear Hall as an Engineer, a top ranking job in the world of Varse, or for as long as she can remember. Her last memory was her when she was four years old, being taken by her guardian Marv to the Hall. Beyond that, she has no recollection of anything, her parents, friends, nothing. She only has a small locket of two children to remind her of her past. One day, after fourteen years, the missing Princess of Thorns is found in the midst of a brutal war between Thorns and Pyro and a spark of hope is to be regained. Syl is given the honor of creating the wedding between Princess Sylvia and Prince Tom of Illicia, the bond that will strengthen the Army and push Thorn into victory. But once Syl arrives at the palace, a series of events will change her life forever...

Naruko Uzumaki stood out in the streets of Konoha. Bright blue eyes seemed to glow in the sunlight, long sun kissed blond hair flowing down to her lower back, and three whisker-like marks etched along each cheek. Her tanned skin was unusual in this part of the world, and the fully orange kimono paired with black ninja sandals made her look like a flower ready to bloom. Her dream was simple but immense: she wanted to become Hokage. Far from the village, in the shadowed woods, a boy trained alone. His dark eyes absorbed what little light filtered through the trees, and his hair, black as ink, framed skin pale as fresh snow. He wore a long-sleeved black shirt with a red-and-white fan painted on the back, dark pants, and black ninja sandals. A short white sword rested in his hand as sweat ran down his small, tense body. "What am I? I am not human," he said, his voice raspy and trembling with fear. At only five years old, he already understood the danger of humans discovering his secret, and that fear weighed heavily on him.
