Juniper Gilmore, the younger sister by four minutes of Rory Gilmore, grew up very differently from her twin. While her twin grew up in a house of color, love, genuineness, and fun, Juniper grew up feeling lonely, isolated, and hated by her mother and her sister by extension. Juniper realized at a very young age that she wouldn't be able to rely on anyone but herself. The only comfort she found was in music, books, the lake and the trees surrounding, and most importantly Luke's Diner where she happened to work. Luke always had a soft spot for Juniper, even without knowing her family struggles (which Lorelei would kill Juniper if she had told him).
Juniper feels as though she is always putting on an act for the townsfolk to look happy, that is, until Luke's nephew shows up in Stars Hollow and takes a liking to the younger Gilmore. For once, Juniper truly feels happy and comforted in someone other than herself.
