My mother was entirely different than my grandmother and I. Is trying to make my mother proud of me the most important thing in the world? I learned that it isn’t; the most important thing is for me to be proud of myself. I experienced a bit of struggle in my life, but in the end I was proud of the woman that I always was. But what problems did I have to struggle so much in my life? When did I finally become permanently proud of myself?

The protagonist discovers an ad in the underworld promising an exorbitant amount of money to the winner of a social experiment. Cornered by his precarious situation, he finds himself forced to risk everything and head to the specified location. (This is a prequel to my Terrible Mouse fan novel).
