''Oh, I don't hate you,'' he laughs darkly. ''I just wish I did.'' ₊˚ ✧ ‿︵‿୨୧‿︵‿ ✧ ₊˚ Kayleigh Henderson has always woken up to the impossible-flooded floors, burning walls, wind clawing at her room like it's alive. She told herself it was normal. It isn't. When a fire she can't control kills her parents, Kayleigh is dragged into another realm by a man who claims she's not just powerful...but dangerous. A goddess. One who died four thousand years ago...during a strange battle she apparently lost. Now, with her memories gone and her power barely under control, Kayleigh is thrown into the Great Storm: a brutal series of trials that will decide who rules her world. And standing on the other side? The god who killed her. Duncan remembers everything. The girl he loved. The girl he lost. The girl standing in front of him now-who looks the same, fights the same... But isn't her. Because this version of Kayleigh doesn't trust him. And she definitely doesn't love him. But the closer the trials bring them, the harder it becomes to tell whether the pull between them is fate... Or the beginning of another war. Everything was so quiet that it overwhelmed me. I didn't know if I was breathing or just trying to survive with minimal effort. My breath may have been the only thing keeping me in this world, but it was also what made me feel suffocated. Every moment felt heavy, and every breath carried with it a sense of chaos I couldn't escape. I lived in this void, where everything seemed to breathe for me, as if I were merely observing the things happening around me, catching my breath and trying to hold on to something tangible. But deep down, I knew I was about to lose control, as if I were in the moment before my final breath, when everything would stop. But I had nowhere to go, no escape from this heaviness. My breath was my only guide, and every time I thought I'd found some relief, another breath would remind me that I couldn't stop, that I simply couldn't escape this endless cycle.

THIS IS PART TWO : "You're playing a game you can't win," he whispered, tightening his grip. "I already have," she choked out, becoming light-headed as she struggled to get a full breath in. He was well aware just where to hold, because he held her right on the edge of passing out. "Is that so?" He asked. "From where I'm sitting, you have not." His thumb released her enough to stroke her throat. "Enlighten me, Hermione." She shivered at the sinful way her name sounded on his lips.

This short story, following the corporeal arrival of Lester F. Lim, or just Lester, the lurking chaos, member of the Entropic Pantheon(from the short story "The Gods Of The Final Apocalypse"). The narrative unfolds through the eyes of a scientifically-minded individual residing in a bustling city, chronicling the descent into chaos and cosmic horror. As Lester's influence spreads, a pervasive fear grips the populace, destabilizing the social and political order. His emergence from Mount Apo marks that he is no longer the mere presence(mentioned at the "LESTER: The Lurker At Gd"), but now walks the world with a physical avatar, to cause more chaos not just with lies, but directly manipulating reality. Manifesting physically is what he likes. He grew tired of being above, so he planned this the entire time, and now he is finally able to roam the universe. The protagonist, initially skeptical, is drawn to Lester's displays, lured by the promise of profound revelation. These exhibitions, however, serve as gateways to nightmarish visions, revealing hooded figures amidst ruins and malevolent entities lurking behind fallen monuments. The city transforms into a surreal landscape, with familiar landmarks replaced by encroaching grass and missing towers. As the narrator and others are led into the countryside, they encounter unnatural snows and a chasm that beckons them into the abyss. This descent marks a transition into a realm beyond human comprehension, where the protagonist witnesses the corpses of dead worlds and encounters monstrous entities from beyond the confines of time and space. The narrative culminates in the revelation of Lester's connection to The Scarlet Emperor, Othgorr'ack, and Arcahella, The Empress Of Death. This is the excerpt of the short story "LESTER: The Lurker At Gd", part of the Transfinitian Myths Universe/TMU. He's also mentioned in the short story "Dreaming Out Of Time", and in "The Gods Of The Final Apocalypse".
