Maddison "Maddie" Williams is just your typical college student, doing her best to get by. Although she is in a relationship with her long term boyfriend, Matthew "Matt" Smith, Maddie chooses to live on her own, it's been this way ever since her mum passed almost a year ago. Maddie is just happy and hoping for a quiet peaceful life but will she ever get that? Especially since just outside of her hometown, past the woods, there lies a pack of werewolves. These werewolves only request to live in peace among the humans and it has been this way for a long time. In this werewolf pack, is pack member, Jack Farkas. He, along with a few of his pack members and friends, attend the same college as Maddie. Jack is almost twenty and still looking for his true fated mate. He's looked at the females in his pack but none of them are screaming Mate to him or his wolf. However, after one chance encounter with Maddie, Jack's wolf whispers the word mate to him. Maddie's world starts to fall apart thanks to Matt and a so called best friend. As Maddie grows closer to Jack, is she doing the right thing or is she heading towards making a decision she may later come to regret?.....

With Katniss being adoptive, she has a lot of family, both biological and adoptive. This part is about her biological dad and aunt, when they were little. Their lives get turn up side down, when their parents, Katniss' grandparents, have a bad accident on vacation. Time: June of 2003

I slowly dropped my hands to the horns of the mask-jolting once the guy protectively held the rock higher in case I tried something-I softened my shaking movements, raising the mask completely off my face. Without the mask... with the fire... My eyes found the green gems of his eyes. He was... Handsome. My hands slowly lifted up to brush wild curls from my own face. Removing anything that would obstruct my view of him. Him. The guy leaped back, DROPPING the rock directly onto my foot. I shrieked-obviously in pain. ___ BOOM! a flash of light came from the clouds. Rain pelleted down on us. I stared blankly watching Grug attempt to punch the drops. "So," I glanced over to Eon, "You've seen rain, right?" "We don't get out much." Belt pulled an umbrella from my side, handing it to me. He pulled Eon towards me as I opened the umbrella-glancing to my right, I saw Eon's arm hesitating on whether to wrap around my waist. I gently, nudged closer to him and for a split second I felt his hand against me-well until the to umbrella got snatched from me by Grug. I glared at him. Annnnd some lighting stuck the umbrella, shocking him. With a shake of my head I pulled out another umbrella, covering Eon and I again. ________ it's a short book-I was bored 😭✋
