Lost-boys Stories

An imagining of how David, Paul, Dwayne, and Marko got together, became vampires, and formed the Lost Boys. Each chapter is set to the lyrics of a song from the self-titled debut album by the band Audioslave. I would recommend listening to the audio track while reading the chapter, to feel what is conveyed by the specific lyrics woven into the story. Originally published between 2003 and 2004, I got as far as using eight of the fourteen songs before the project was abandoned. As one of my lesser known works based on "The Lost Boys", I ignored it until the sudden and unexpected passing of singer Chris Cornell in May 2017. Dusting it off and giving it a polish, here it is, with minor editorial changes. I now consider it a completed work. His features quickly turned precarious, "or dark," his now menacing gaze pierced hers and Kiaras stomach flipped, "depending on the context." He finished. He took a step closer, studying her like she was some sort of priceless artifact. Kiara froze, her stature proud and stoic even as her gaze trained on the rocky cliff face behind the boy. Her heart thumped quickly. She was frightened of him. His voice was soft yet laced with passive aggression - oddly enthralling at the proximity. But she definitely couldn't think of that. His mouth curved upwards into a curious smirk as those bright forest eyes finally met hers. This characters name is Luna Baker, she is a fragile emotional yet depressed girl, she is 17 years old and has nobody who loves her and nobody to love. Everyone that she did care about her turned against her making her feel useless and unwanted in life, she finds the only way to escape her life is the cutting and smoking cigarets. Luna gets bullied for her looks and how she acts in the open. Luna spent most of her time sleeping in her warm yet comforting bed after her step mother beats her and cries herself to sleep, after she tried to commit suicide she starts to fall into a deep sleep finding herself on an island with a cute dirty blond boy who starts to warm up to her comfort.

Hannah and Austin had a some-what normal life. They were foster kids, living with a couple in London. Then, Cole came into the home. Cole was mysterious, and for some reason cringed every time anyone mentioned the loved Disney character Peter Pan. One wrong move happened, and now Hannah, Austin, and Cole are stuck in a new place, a place Hannah had only heard of in fairy tales. And for some reason, Cole seems to know about everything that's happening.

At that moment, something clicked inside my head and I realised that I was staring up at a boy whom my grandmother had wrote about in her diary, the boy who didn't exist, the boy who was just a work of fiction.
