"Don't be a chicken," she said, mopping up the mess. Then we tucked into the hotel's free snacks -- nuts, guacamole and grasshoppers. "That's disgusting," my girlfriend said as I chowed down on the insects. "Oh, *this* is disgusting," I said, shaking my head. We're talking about a girl who will scream bloody murder if she sees a spider the size of a poppy seed. And yet mosquitos aren't scary? Not one bit? In fact, mosquitos are the deadliest creature on the planet -- what would happen, I wondered, if people actually FEARED them? What if they were ... BIGGER? Badder? More deadly? Then I stumbled across a Reddit thread that detailed a shocking scientific experiment. And, well, THE MOSQUITO was born ... PS. This is the first story I have ever written! Every step she took mud hugged her shoes, trying to slip in. Soft chirps came off the distant, soon followed by a lower more masculine chirp. A mating ritual, she was not surprised, being a scientist had it perks to wildlife, it was the wrong season for many animals and avian alike, but of course litsasurus had a different clock then everyone.
